Hi Parents,
What an awesome week in Kindergarten!! The Tiger Dash was so fun and, of course, our class finished the obsticles with the fastest time! We also were the only class at Tritt to have 6 goals! Wow!!! We will have our Disco Dance Party on Monday in the gym with the other Kindergarten classes that also made the 4th goal. Next week, we will write the letters "U" and "V". In Social Studies, we will begin to talk about Thanksgiving focusing on the Native Americans and how they helped the colonists survive when they came to Plymouth. We are comparing numbers in Math. Monday is also "Hat Day". Students may wear a hat , no masks, if they bring a dollar. All proceeds go to the RAllY Foundation. We will also have our class "Fall Center Celebration" that day. Thanks to all the Moms that volunteered to help and organize this event. I am in the process of weeding out the sight word baggies. The words that the students know really well, will be put in another baggie that you may keep for review. Please make sure that you pull these words out at least 2 to 3 times a month...they will forget them! We will go to Chimney Springs Park on Tuesday for our 5th Goal. Details are in the red folder today. Please return the permission forms ASAP. Hi Parents,
Thank you so much for coming to conferences this week. I enjoyed meeting with each of you to talk about your child and their growth this last nine weeks. We are becoming great beginning readers, writers and mathematicians!! Next week, we will focus on the letters "Ss" and "Tt". We will learn how to write these letters and review the sounds that they make by writing 3 letter words on wipe-off boards. In Math, we will learn how to compare objects by length and height. We will incorporate Science into our Writing Workshop as we write the stages of how a pumpkin grows. We will focus on using a capital letter at the beginning of each sentence and a punctuation mark at the end. On Thursday, we will have Diane Shore, author of Bus-a-saurus Bop, visiting Tritt to share her book and Friday is the Tiger Dash!! We will be participating in the Dash from 11:30-12:15. Please come cheer us on as we "dash" through Tritt's very own obstacle course for the conclusion of our PTA fundraiser! We have a very busy week next week! Don't forget that it is Conference Week. Students will be dismissed all week at 12:15. We will be on a different lunch and specials schedule to adjust to the early release. Please send a note if you child will be going home a different way due to the early schedule. Monday is the 50th day of school. We will celebrate with a special LIFT in the cafeteria dancing to The Twist and Hand Jive. Students are encouraged to wear clothes from the 50's. Mrs, East and Mrs. Colley will be decked out as well. It will be a super, fun day! The Scholastic Book Fair will be in the Media Center all next week. We went today as a class for a preview, so I am sure you will hear all about it when the kids get home today. Books may be purchased before school or after school. I will only send the Guided Reading folders home one time next week because of the shortened day. We will go to the Media Center on Friday for check out. Today was the PTA fundraiser kick-off. Students will be bringing home a white envelope for money collection. First turn in day is Monday. All directions for the fundraiser are printed on the outside of the white collection envelope.
