Hi Parents,
We had a very busy 4 days this week. We learned how to write opinion pieces during writing workshop about "The Best Pet" and "My Favorite Season". Next week, we will review Informational Writing, as we learn facts about penguins. In Math, we are continuing to work on addition facts and addition word problems. We will begin a STEM challenge on Tuesday, making ramps to hit our Science standard of motion. We will test our ramps with "sleds" and measure the distance. Hi Parents,
Getting back into the routine has been rough for these kiddos (and the teacher, if I am being honest) HA. Just when we get back, we get out early for snow and then miss Monday and Tuesday. We have no school this Monday, January 16th, in observation of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday. Hopefully, we will get back on a steady routine after that! I put a new homework calendar in the back of the red folders today. We will start back with homework next week. Since we have missed some extra days, please help me with extra sight word and reading practice at home. We will go to the ILC on Friday for a lesson and check out, Don't forget to return your book. In Math, we are beginning to learn basic addition facts to 5. I will introduce Opinion Writing on Tuesday. Students will write their own opinions on the season of winter. Is it or is it not their favorite season and why. Doughnuts for Dad is quickly approaching. Invitations went home on Thursday. If Dad is unavailable, please make sure that someone comes in his place.
